The tragic deaths of several high-profile figures, including Robin Williams, Anthony Bourdain, and Kate Spade brought the issue of suicide and depression to the forefront of public consciousness. These talented individuals were celebrated for their achievements in their respective fields, but behind their public personas, they struggled with mental health issues that ultimately led to their untimely deaths.
Mental health has emerged as a major global issue in recent years, and the COVID-19 pandemic has only exacerbated the problem. From the impact of lockdowns and social distancing to the economic, financial, physical and social consequences of the pandemic, mental health issues have become more prevalent than ever before. Depression, in particular, has become a pressing concern, affecting individuals of all ages and backgrounds around the world. According to the latest statistics from the World Health Organization, approximately 280 million people worldwide suffer from depression, making it the leading cause of disability globally, and the number is only increasing.
Precisely, in Malaysia, the number of individuals suffering from depression has been on the rise over the past few years. Malaysia recorded an increase of 81% or 1,142 suicide cases in 2021 compared to 631 cases in 2020. The Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) hotline received 212,319 calls in 2021, an increase of almost five-fold at 44,061 calls in 2020. The callers needed emotional support and counselling due to chronic stress, depression and anxiety. This current issue has raised concerns among mental health professionals, policymakers, and the general public about the impact of depression on individuals and society as a whole. However, despite the prevalence of this condition, it remains stigmatized and often goes undiagnosed and untreated.
CLT Perspective on Cause of Mental Health - Depression
Over the years, HG Academy had a chance to examine the root cause of depression through handling a number of cases. Through the profiling sessions, it is observed that depression is a multifaceted problem. From an energetic angle, depression can manifest in a person when they lose a certain spectrum of Light, specifically the Golden Light ray (colour of the Solar Plexus Chakra) and the Ultra Violet Light ray (colour of the Crown Chakra).
The Golden Light energy gives hope and sunshine to enable one to look at the bright side and carry on to overcome the obstacles encountered. When the quotient of the Golden Light diminishes massively, the 'will' to live diminishes as well. It is vital that restoration of this Light ray takes place in order to help lift the person out of depression. The loss of the Golden Light ray happens when there is no self-love or self-worth in a person.
From the energetics perspective, depression is a condition that is caused by de-structured particles that inhibit or obstruct the flow of energy at the Crown Chakra. The Ultra Violet Light energy is of a higher frequency energy that gives tranquility to life and it is often associated with intuition, spiritual connection and spiritual awareness. A balance of Ultra Violet Light energy in our Crown Chakra can help us to connect with our Higher Self, allowing higher wisdom to permeate into our consciousness and thereby helping us to find a sense of clarity and purpose in our lives. When we do not have enough Ultra Violet Light energy in us, it can lead to feelings of disconnection from oneself or others, lack of purpose, and a sense of being spiritually unfulfilled.
That being said, if the weakened Crown Chakra is coupled with a weak Solar Plexus Chakra, the depressed person may not have the willpower to overcome the bout of depression. As such, the depletion of both Golden Light ray and Ultra Violet Light ray is the main reason for high suicidal tendencies amongst teens and adults.
Besides Golden Light energy and Ultra Violet Light energy, Pink Light energy is also essential to support emotional healing as the Pink Light energy can prevent our hearts from shutting down from grief and brings about feelings of self-love, self-respect, and self-worth.
In short, the Golden Light energy, Ultra Violet Light energy and Pink Light energy are crucial Light energies to keep depression and suicidal tendencies at bay. In order to restore these Light energies, HG Academy suggests the use of natural crystals as they are known for their speed and also precision in delivering energies.

Final thoughts
While crystals are hugely useful tools in supporting our healing journey, it is important to remember that the only way to overcome these struggles is to learn to identify how these precious Light energies are lost through wrong lifestyle and the way of expressing energies. The present-day urban matrix has reinforced this pattern of depletion of energies. No one has been able to filter and correct these mistakes because the development of mankind focuses solely on developing the left brain (rationale and logical thinking) to pursue material enjoyment and technological advancement. This imbalance (i.e. development of left-brain dominance) caused the mental health disorder to flourish to an epidemic level. In order to restore back mental health, we have to return to tradition and spirituality which our elders held so strongly. Spirituality strengthens our right brain to enlighten us to our higher purpose here on earth, while tradition ties us to our roots and lineage. Modern people knew none of these principles and values, and cast them aside in pursuit of material advancement. Without tradition and spirituality, how can our left brain see what is good and bad and the way forward?
